From this post a while back: http://yuk-lui.blogspot.com/2010/04/etc-selling-sleek-palettes-in-future.html

Please answer this poll so I could get a rough idea. Thank you.

Which Sleek I-Divine palette are you willing to purchase?

[REVIEW] EOS G-207 Super Nudy Grey

SPONSORED. Recieved these from http://www.kiwiberry1-collection.com/ ages ago and I keep forgetting to review them. Back in May I recieved these and its September now.

These are 14.5mm in diameter:

This is the Geo Nudy Grey which is 14mm in diameter:

Link to this lense review: http://yuk-lui.blogspot.com/2010/01/review-circle-lensesc.html
The pattern is near enough exactly the same. Both have dark outer rings. This darker outer ring in the Super Nudy is slightly thicker than the Geo Nudy which lead the Super Nudy to be slightly larger in diameter. There is a slight colour tone difference.

I threw my Geo Nudy Greys away so I can't do an exact comparison.

Review: To be honest, I'm not really sure what to exactly think of this. I loved the Geo Nudy Grey. I thought this Super Nudy would live upto the Geo Nudy expectations. Just slightly disappointed with these.

The colour is slightly lighter and quite opaque. A it disappointed with the pattern. Not as noticeable indoors and outside. It does give me a moonlight effect but not as strong. In the daylight, the colour is a noticeable grey. In some lighting, it'll look more black. On nights out, it will appear black but when flash photography is taken, you can see the grey portrayed as a light grey, with a black outer ring which isn't solid.

When I first tried these one, I was like woah! Because of the size. Not sure why though. The Candy King Size series have the same diameter and I wasn't shocked from the size of them. The reason could've been that I was tired when I woke up. But throughout the day, it seemed normal to me. This slightly makes me look alienish in some lighting.

The comort wasn't bad. I could only wear these for 6 hours maximum. It will dry my eyes and cause discomfort. When these lenses were first inserted, I had a slight discomfort. After taking them out, letting them soak for another 5 minutes and inserting them in, they were fine.

The reason that I'm slightly disappointed was that I really didn't get the same effects as the Geo Nudy, however, I will still wear these lense as it does look nice.

[NEWS] H&M Online UK Store Opens Today

http://shop.hm.com/gb/
Screenshot of homepage:

I've been browsing around it for a good few hours, I've been adding thing to the shopping bag (click image to enlarge):

Total came to £197.80. I realised that I don't have to money for it at the moment. I''ll be purchasing when I go back to university and my student loan comes in. Think I'll have to cut down on the list but they're all "necessities".

The site is easy to browse around. I think that there aren't enough products on yet but it currently does had a wide choice.

Now I wished that there wasn't an online H&M store now.

[HAUL] From Smart to Bun

Lame title. Lol. I've bought things over the few weeks and haven't really had the time to properly post them.

I'm currently into blazers at the moment. Took me a while to find the perfect one as it had to be long, short sleeved and fitted. Found this at River Island:

Had to cut the tag off as it gave me a rash. This blazer isn't fitted but I still love this blazer and the colour.

I'm biased and bought this because it was a really nice shade of blue since blue is my favourite colour. This is a cropped, drapped vest top. Very popular here. From Topshop:

Very loose fitting. Good for a day/night out.

Another thing from River Island:

I've always wanted high waisted shorts. Seriously fell in love with these when I first saw it. Love the design and fitted perfectly!

I needed a new purse as my other one was ripping in areas. Bought this from Primark:

Quilted detail caught my eye. This purse gave me enough room to store all my cards, cash, passes etc. I wanted a cheap one for now.

Another thing I purchased from Primark:

Bow bangle. Enough said.

False eyelashes from eBay:

Photographed each of the boxes individually:
Bought 60 pairs and it came with a variety of thickness and design.

More false eyelashes:

Bought this from Superdrug. I think I should really stop buying false eyelashes. I've got loads of boxes which hasn't been opened/used yet.

This may look strange and unusual:

I've been searching for these for ages and they looke like chinese doughnuts. This is becoming more popular due to its efficiency in making a hair bun. This has many other uses too. I bought both sizes as I was unsure which would be best suited.

Think many people have started school/university, study guys! :P

[TUTORIAL + TIPS] New False Eyelash Design

Don't have the false eyelash design you like, have spare ones and don't know what to do or want more thickness/volume etc? Why not create a new pair of false eyelashes! So here we go!

1. Choose 2 pairs of false eyelashes. They can be the same or different styles. I have chosen a criss cross and straight design.

2. Measure the lashes against your eyes and trim it so it fits. Flex the band after.

3. Put the two lashes together, on top of each other to get your new design. No glue required yet.

So you will get something like this:

You can always adjust it to you preference, e.g. cut one of the lash deign in half and use it to enhance the outer eye. No glue is needed yet at this stage.

4. Once you're happy with the new design, start by adding a little bit of glue on one end of the lash band and stick the two lashes together.

5. Once the glue has dried, gently peel the other end of the band until you reach the end which has been stuck together. Add glue to the rest of the band and gently stick them together.

6. Gently squeeze the two lashes together until they are properly stuck together.

Then VOILA! A new pair of false eyelashes.

7. Use your new pair of falsies as normal.

Tips:
- Experiment with different designs, positioning etc.
- You could have mre than two different false lashe design and use one as the base then cut the other design into smaller pieces and stick them on the base.
- I wouldn't recommend using more than 2 pair of strip falsies. If you was to stick 3 or more together on top of one another, it may iritate your eyelid due to the band being thicker and could look even more fake.
- I would'nt recommend using very thick banded falsies. Best option is to use clear lash band or thin black lash banded falsies.
- You could apply individual falsies onto strip lashes for thickness, length, volume etc for a more natural look.
- Use good glue.
- If the final lashes are uncomfortable, flex it.

What do you guys think?

Had to shut my blog for a day or so as I had to recode everything and everything was a mess.

Created the banner myself. All coding and modification done by moi. Guess being an actual Computer Scientist and a Graphic Designer at heart has its advantages. Lol.

[HAIR] From Brown to Blonde

Yes you read the title, brown to blonde. Not on my hair though. :P
One of my best friends, she always wanted blonde hair and had decided that during the week I was back at university, that she wanted to become a blonde.
She's never dyed her hair with permanent hair dye before so her hair is very healthy and no damage. She uses semi-permanent hair dye. She is naturally a brunette. Back in June, she asked me to dye her hair with a semi permanent hair dye in a dark red, burgundy colour. Came out a lovely colour burgundy colour in the end.

So the week I was down, she asked me to dye her hair blonde. She had hair lightener, blonde hair dye and brown hair dye (just incase it went wrong).

This was my first attempt at dying someone's hair from a dark colour to blonde. So here we go!

This was her colour before it turned blonde:

Beautiful colour. The semi-permanent hair colour has faded and her roots are coming out.

The first step was to lighten her hair especially the hair dye which was still there even though it has faded. The hair lightener, which is also a form of bleach, Garnier Nutrisse Blonde Pre-Lightener was used and left on for around 40 minutes and here were the results:

Her hair turned ginger, which is normal, but her roots came out blonde. Perfect! But, we do need to turn this fierce colour to match the roots.
Hair will turn ginger when dying dark hair to light. There's a thing called hair levels at which you hair will go though and show the undertones at each hair colour. Red hair dye is hard to get off.

So we decided to lighten her hair again. This time, I used Schwarzkopf hair lightening (can't exactly remember which product). This did lighten the ginger. It wasn't as fierce. This was done the day after.

Since her hair was still ginger, we decided to go for the harder stuff, Jerome Russell B Blonde Cream Peroxide 12% 40VOL and B Blonde Powder Bleach 100G. It said to use one packet of the powder bleach with one bottle of the cream peroxide. Here is the mixture which contains two of each since one wasn't enough:

This is a blue mixture because this will counteract with the ginger and brassiness of the hair (think contrasting colours ;)). The previous hair lightener products used were white mixture.

Used this product twice. The first round, it got rid of a lot of the brassy, ginger. The image below shoes the mixture applied on. This is the second round of using B Blonde:

As you can see, her hair is like a gradient.

This image is the after using the B Blonde twice:

Hair turned yellow blonde with a tiny hint of ginger. Nearly even colour.

Decided to leave her hair to rest since it has been bleached often, 4 times in the space of 5 days.

After a week of deep, deep, deep conditioning, dyed her hair with a permanent hair dye. Used Garnier Nutrisse Nourishing Color Creme in Ash Blonde. Using a hair dye with an ash colour in it will counteract with the golden, warm hair tones like the image above.
Here is the final result:

Now, even colour, no brassy or ginger. She's blonde now. Voila!

This was the process we went through:
Day 1 - First hair lightening session using Garnier Nutrisse Blonde Pre-Lightener.
Day 2 - Second hair lightening session using Schwarzkopf hair lightening.
Day 3 - BREAK, deep condition.
Day 4 - Third hair lightening session round 1 using Jerome Russell B Blonde Cream Peroxide 12% 40VOL and B Blonde Powder Bleach 100G.
Day 5 - Forth hair lightening session round 2 using Jerome Russell B Blonde Cream Peroxide 12% 40VOL and B Blonde Powder Bleach 100G.
Deep condition everyday.
Week later - Dye hair with Garnier Nutrisse Nourishing Color Creme in Ash Blonde.

Been an adventure. :)
When her roots grow, I'm dying it according to her. Lol.

I dyed my roots today and revitalised my hair. My family said that my hair is lighter. I disagreed but I think I'm blind. Haha
Mum said that my hair has golden undertones now and before it was redyed, it had red undertones. So I guess it has. I used the same hair dye and gave me a slight different outcome. However, I like the colour even though I still think it's the same. HAHA

[ETC + TIPS] Fake Cosmetics

Sorry for being unactive these days/weeks. I've been studying for a resit a week ago as well as looking for a job for when university starts. Still looking for a job.

One of my friends have recently bought makeup. Not ordinary makeup, fake makeup. She purchased these from ebay.
M.A.C Hello Kitty Eyeshadow:
Packaging looks legit right?

Unravel the packaging:

Again, the logo looks legit. Open the lid and:

I don't remember M.A.C releasing a 5 eyeshadow palette for this series and the lid being transparent.
The palette and back of the packaging:

The bar code is in the wrong place. It should be on the side and not on the back. I don't remember there being a sticker "001". The name on the barcode is wrong.
Below is a swatch of the palette:

The feeling of this is soft. Eventhough the colours are shimmery and are pigmented, I wouldn't use this on my skin, never mind my eyes. The reason being is that who knows what sort of chemicals are in these. I don't think this is meant to be a replica of the actual M.A.C Hello Kitty Dolly Eye or Midnight Tom. If it was meant to be a replica then it would have the shades of the actual product but more toxic.

Benefit Blush Powder in Thrrrob:

You wouldn't tell that this product is fake would you? You get the brush, protective cover (not shown in the picture) and the powder.

To determine if this product or any other Benefit Powder Blush is a fake, the first thing I would suggest is to look at the back:

Where it says "PEEL HERE", peel it.
It will do this if, it is a fake:

In a real Benefit Powder Blush, it will be easier to peel and will be able to stick back on ready for re-peel. As for the fake, the label is just stuck onto the box. It's like peeling a sticker and will not be able to be stuck down again. Eventhough that there are writing on this sticker, it shouldn't be stuck together like the image above. You will not be able to stick it back down plus its made of paper, not the actual plastic paper thing. Not sure what it is called.
This is a swatch of the "blush":

This is chalky, very chalky. It's will look chalky when applied. It also has a chalky smell. With the actual product, it will have a flowery scent.
I remember reading that people, who have bought the fake off ebay and used it, have broke out from it. The same with other fake Benefit Powder Blush.

Another product bought on ebay:

"Smashbox" eyeshadow pencil

A close up of the logo. Straight away, I recognised that this was a fake. The main giveaway is the font style. The font style used here is in serif and the actual logo uses sans-serif. Another giveaway is the capitalisation of the "S". Smashbox is all in lowercase.
Also the packaging is cheap.
Swatch of the 6 eye pencils:

Beautiful pearly colours right?
I'm not sure if this is trying to recreate a current smashbox product. I think the attempted "smashbox" logo is just applied onto it.

These fakes are probably manufactured in China. There is a chance of the cosmetics being fake on ebay especially if its M.A.C cosmetics, Bobbi Brown, Smashbox and Benefit.

Tips:
If buying cosmetics on ebay:
- If the image is small/is a stock image, ask for more images, especially actual ones.
- Look at their feedback to see if their sellers have commented on the product being fake.
- Always do your research on the products you're wanting to purchase e.g. the logo, packaging, applicators etc.
- Google the product. If it never existed or theres no promotion from the company then it is likely to be a fake.
- Check the packaging for any spelling mistakes or tranlation mistakes. If there are any mistakes then it's 100% fake.
- Look at whether the colours have been released. E.g. If a collection sold only 6 shades and the ebayer sells more than 6 shades of this collection, they are fake.
- Look at the name of the product and research. If cosmetics are numbered 1, 2, 3 etc, they tend to be fake.
- If bought on ebay and are unsure afterwards, when it arrives, take it to a makeup counter and compare.
- If a fake is bought, never use it. Throw it staight in the bin. You don't know what chemicals are in it and it may give you infections.
- Things that are being sold from China, there are a chance of it being fake.
- To avoid all of this drama, do not buy on ebay.
- Always buy instore or on the company's store.

I've added more items such as tops, caps etc on ebay:
